“Satan tells me I am unworthy; but I always was unworthy, and yet God has long loved me.” Charles Spurgeon
OH, MY LORD, I love this!
As Christians considering our humanity and our need for Christ’s forgiveness, we can honestly say, “Yes! We are unworthy! We need Jesus!”
For many years as a Christian, why have I not thought to reply to the thoughts in my head:
“Yes, that’s right, I’m unworthy! But PRAISE GOD, HIS Holiness, HIS forgiveness, HIS place in my heart makes me worthy!”
“Yes, that’s right, I’m not enough! But PRAISE GOD, HIS completeness and HIS perfection within me, HIS Holy Spirit makes me enough, and not only enough but more!
“Yes, that’s right, what makes me think I can do this?!” But PRAISE GOD, with HIS help and guidance I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!
See that, friends!? All we have to do is complete the thought:
“Pfft, of course I’m unworthy, not enough. But Praise God for Jesus who makes me worthy and enough plus more.”
“Pfft again, of course I can’t do this on my own, but Praise God for Jesus who guides, equips and empowers!”
What other responses (finishing the thought) come to mind for you when Satan attacks?
Oh, my Lord, this is so exciting, so encouraging, to have the power to disarm Satan’s mental attacks so easily and quickly, just by finishing the thought, reminding ourselves of Your love and presence in our lives. We are not alone. We have You, the Almighty God by our side and within, by the power of Your Holy Spirit. With YOU, we are worthy, we are enough, we are able. Thank you, Lord. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
